Why Movement: Meridian

Team. Tech. Community.

That's why liquidity hub Meridian builds on Movement.

We sat down with the team to learn more. It's part of our series where we chat with teams about why they're on Movement, then share the tea with you.

The goal: understand what Movement gives builders.

For Meridian, it's about more than a parallelized VM or the speed of Monza-powered mainnet. It's about collaboration and opportunity. The future, we feel, is ours!

Read the juicy details below!

Movement: So why are you building on Movement?

Meridian: The support has been unreal. The Movement team has been incredibly responsive. When we have a technical issue or need any other help, they step up immediately. What also stands out is they focus on growing the actual onchain activity. They’re not just trying to pump token prices or create hype. They actually just genuinely want real usage, real applications. They want to create real value.

Once you build on Move, everything else just feels outdated.

Movement: Why did you stay after the FUD this year?

Meridian: There’s FUD on every chain. There's always ups and downs at the early stages of bootstrapping and launching the chain. I think three things have really wanted to make us stick here: the community, the team, and the tech. The community is honestly special. I haven’t seen a similar community to movement elsewhere. There’s just this sense that we’re all working toward something bigger and everyone is extremely humble. As I said, the team is incredible. They’re confident and hardworking. And the tech speaks for itself. I’m a huge advocate of the MoveVM, the security model and the performance. The Developer Experience is unmatched. Once you build on Move, everything else just feels outdated.

Movement: What's your take on Movement DeFi and why should people try Meridian?

Meridian: Movement DeFi is great. People should come use Meridian because it’s extremely simple. If you want to trade on Movement, we have the deepest pools and that means the best prices and the least slippage. But there’s obviously a lot of new protocols coming out, and competition pushes a chain forward. We’re excited to see new applications coming onto the chain and to meet new founders. I’m excited for the future.

Movement: What advice would you give to hungry crypto builders?

Meridian: Movement is relatively new. This means you have an incredible opportunity to get in early and grow with the ecosystem. There’s this real community, this real sense of collaborative thinking. That kind of thinking isn’t present on chains that have been live for years. The core infra has already been built there, and trying to win marketshare is a tough task. Anyone who’s thinking of building, look into movement.
